About the Riley Elf Mark III

The Riley Elf was BMC's attempt to bring traditional British luxury to the revolutionary Mini platform. The Mark III, introduced in 1966, was the most refined iteration, featuring wind-up windows and internal door hinges years before they appeared on the standard Mini. Distinguished by its upright chrome grille and extended 'three-box' tail, it offered a larger boot and a plush interior complete with a full-width walnut dashboard and leather seats. While it retained the Mini's agile handling, the Elf was marketed as a sophisticated city car for those who found the original too utilitarian.
