About the Renault Clio Mk4
The fourth-generation Renault Clio, launched in 2012, marked a significant design shift for the brand under Laurens van den Acker, inspired by the DeZir concept. The 0.9 TCe engine was a key part of Renault's downsizing strategy, using a small-displacement turbocharged three-cylinder to provide the performance of a 1.4-litre naturally aspirated engine with superior fuel economy. The Dynamique Nav trim was a best-seller in the UK, offering a high level of standard equipment including a touchscreen infotainment system and satellite navigation. While it prioritised comfort and style over the raw agility of its Ford Fiesta rival, its mature road manners and low running costs made it a popular choice for urban commuters.
