About the Porsche 911 Sport Classic 992
The 992-generation Sport Classic is the second instalment in Porsche's Heritage Design series, following the Targa 4S Heritage Design Edition. It represents a unique mechanical configuration in the 911 range, pairing the 3.7-litre twin-turbocharged engine from the Turbo S with a seven-speed manual gearbox and rear-wheel drive—a combination not available elsewhere. Visually, it is distinguished by its wide-body stance without the usual Turbo side intakes, a carbon-fibre 'double-bubble' roof, and a fixed 'ducktail' rear spoiler inspired by the 1973 Carrera RS 2.7. Inside, the cabin features 'Pepita' houndstooth cloth inserts and Classic Cognac leather, completing a package that prioritises driver engagement and nostalgic aesthetics over raw lap times.
