About the Peugeot 208 Mk1

The first-generation Peugeot 208 arrived in 2012 as a lighter, more compact successor to the 207, marking a return to the brand's roots of agile small cars. The 1.2 PureTech Active was a core volume seller, powered by a characterful three-cylinder engine that balanced efficiency with adequate urban performance. It introduced the 'i-Cockpit' design language, characterised by a tiny steering wheel and high-mounted instrument cluster. While not a performance model, its low kerb weight makes it surprisingly nimble in city environments compared to its contemporaries.
