About the Peugeot Type 3

The Peugeot Type 3 is a landmark in automotive history, representing the brand's transition from steam to petrol power and the birth of series production. Powered by a Daimler-designed V-twin engine licensed through Panhard et Levassor, it proved its reliability by completing a 2,045 km journey following the 1891 Paris-Brest-Paris cycle race. Its vis-à-vis body style, where passengers sat facing each other, was typical of the era's 'horseless carriages'. As one of the earliest roadworthy vehicles in existence, it is a highly coveted entry for the London to Brighton Veteran Car Run.
