About the Mini Moke

Originally designed by Sir Alec Issigonis as a lightweight military vehicle for the British Army, the Moke was rejected for its low ground clearance and small wheels. It found a second life as a civilian utility vehicle, eventually becoming a global style icon synonymous with beach culture in the Caribbean and the French Riviera. The 998cc version offered a modest power increase over the original 848cc model, providing slightly better drivability for its minimalist, doorless frame. Its mechanical simplicity, shared with the classic Mini, makes it a favourite among collectors who value charm and open-air character over outright performance.
