About the Mini Clubvan R55
The MINI Clubvan is a rare, car-derived commercial vehicle based on the R55 Clubman estate. Launched in 2012, it removed the rear seats and replaced the side windows with body-coloured panels to create an 860-litre cargo bay with a flat floor and a steel bulkhead. Despite its commercial intent, it retained the sharp handling and premium interior of the standard MINI, making it a popular choice for boutique urban businesses. Production was short-lived, particularly in the US where the 'Chicken Tax' led to its withdrawal after just one year, making it one of the rarest modern MINIs.

Mini Clubvan R55 fun facts
- The Clubvan was withdrawn from the US market after only 50 units were sold because it was classified as a light truck, subjecting it to the 25% 'Chicken Tax'.
- It features a unique five-door layout: two front doors, one rear-hinged 'Clubdoor' on the right side, and twin 'barn-door' split rear openings.
- The model was inspired by the 1960 Morris Mini Van, which was a staple of British small-business transport for over two decades.
