About the Mini ERA Turbo

Engineered by English Racing Automobiles (ERA) to be a spiritual successor to the Cooper S, the ERA Turbo was the fastest production Mini of its time. It features a turbocharged A-Series engine sourced from the MG Metro Turbo, housed within a distinctive wide-body kit designed by Dennis Adams. The chassis was significantly reworked with adjustable dampers, a rear anti-roll bar, and increased negative camber to manage the extra power. Inside, it offered a level of luxury unseen in standard Minis, featuring Connolly leather, VDO gauges, and improved sound insulation.

Rarity is a collectible game mechanic, not an assessment of real-world scarcity or value.

Mini ERA Turbo fun facts

  • The aggressive body kit was designed by Dennis Adams, the man responsible for the styling of Marcos sports cars.
  • Despite being a British creation, the majority of the 436 units produced were exported to Japan, where the Mini had a massive cult following.
  • To fit the turbocharged engine and its associated plumbing, the entire dashboard had to be moved further back into the cabin compared to a standard Mini.
