About the MG MGC

Conceived as a replacement for the Austin-Healey 3000, the MGC was a six-cylinder evolution of the MGB. It is distinguished by its 'power bulge' bonnet, necessary to clear the taller 2.9-litre C-Series engine, and a bespoke torsion-bar front suspension. Though savaged by period critics for nose-heavy handling—partly due to under-inflated tyres on press cars—it has since been reappraised as a refined and capable long-distance cruiser. With only 8,999 units produced across both Roadster and GT body styles, it remains a rare and distinctive alternative to the more common four-cylinder MGB.
