About the Vauxhall Viceroy
The Vauxhall Viceroy was a badge-engineered version of the Opel Commodore C, introduced to fill the narrow gap between the four-cylinder Carlton and the flagship Royale. Produced for only two years, it featured a carburetted 2.5-litre straight-six engine and a plush interior with crushed velour and woodgrain trim. It struggled to find an audience as it competed against both the more prestigious Royale and its own Opel-badged twin in the UK market. Today, it is one of the rarest Vauxhalls in existence, with fewer than a dozen examples estimated to remain on British roads.
