About the Maserati Spyder Biturbo
The Maserati Spyder, often referred to as the Spyder Zagato, was a shortened-wheelbase convertible based on the Biturbo platform. Designed by Zagato, it marked Maserati's return to open-top motoring for the first time since the Ghibli Spyder. The 2.8-litre V6 variant, introduced for export markets, addressed earlier reliability concerns with fuel injection and water-cooled turbochargers while providing effortless grand touring performance. Despite its troubled reputation, the late-model 2.8-litre cars are prized by collectors for their improved build quality, luxurious leather-and-wood interiors, and the signature gold analogue clock.
