About the Maserati Shamal

Introduced in 1989 as the flagship of the Biturbo era, the Shamal was the final Maserati developed under Alejandro de Tomaso's ownership. It features a muscular, wide-body design by Marcello Gandini, distinguished by his signature slanted rear wheel arches and a unique spoiler at the base of the windscreen. Under the bonnet sits a bespoke 3.2-litre twin-turbo V8, an engine that would later evolve for the 3200 GT. With only 369 units produced, it is a rare and aggressive grand tourer that combined high-tech features like electronic adaptive damping with a notoriously demanding driving experience.
