About the De Tomaso Longchamp
The De Tomaso Longchamp is a rare 2+2 grand tourer that combined Italian design by Tom Tjaarda at Ghia with the reliable power of a Ford 351 Cleveland V8. Built on a shortened Deauville chassis, it features a sophisticated suspension setup with inboard rear disc brakes, offering a more refined driving experience than the mid-engined Pantera. Its angular, understated styling was intended to compete with the Mercedes-Benz 450 SLC and the Aston Martin V8. Despite a long production run, it remained a niche choice for connoisseurs, eventually serving as the mechanical basis for the Maserati Kyalami.

De Tomaso Longchamp rarity in CarSpot
The De Tomaso Longchamp is a Unicorn card in CarSpot, with a rarity score of 100 out of 100. The rarest tier: hypercars, one-offs and cars built in tiny numbers, typically fewer than about 500. A Unicorn card is worth 320 XP.
Each model's tier starts from a 0–100 score based on its value plus its power or production numbers. Once enough players have spotted a model, how often it is spotted can move it up or down one tier. How CarSpot rarity works
Rarity is a collectible game mechanic, not an assessment of real-world scarcity or value.
De Tomaso Longchamp fun facts
- The Longchamp's headlights and front indicators were borrowed from the first-generation Ford Granada, while the taillights came from the Alfa Romeo 2000 Berlina.
- Only 17 of the 409 cars produced were equipped from the factory with a five-speed ZF manual transmission; the vast majority used a Ford C6 automatic.
- After Ford stopped producing the Cleveland V8 in the US in 1974, De Tomaso sourced engines from Ford Australia to keep the Longchamp in production.
