About the Lamborghini Diablo GT
Introduced at the 1999 Geneva Motor Show, the Diablo GT was a road-legal evolution of the GT2 race car and the most extreme iteration of the model. It featured a stroked 6.0-litre V12, the first of its kind before the engine became standard in the final VT 6.0, paired exclusively with rear-wheel drive to save weight. The bodywork is almost entirely carbon fibre, distinguished by a prominent roof-mounted ram-air intake, wider front tracks, and a radical rear diffuser with centre-exit exhausts. As one of the last 'pre-Audi' influenced designs, it is highly coveted for its raw, unassisted driving experience and status as the fastest production Diablo ever made.

Lamborghini Diablo GT fun facts
- Though officially limited to 80 numbered units, it is widely accepted that 83 were actually produced, including prototypes and press cars.
- The GT was technically only homologated for the European market, though a handful of examples were famously imported to the US under 'Show or Display' rules.
- It featured a rear-mounted parking camera linked to an Alpine screen in the dashboard, a necessity due to the massive roof scoop obscuring rear visibility.
