About the Audi R8 LMX 42
The Audi R8 LMX was launched in 2014 as a limited-edition 'swansong' for the first-generation R8, famously beating the BMW i8 to become the first production car equipped with laser high-beam headlights. It features a tuned version of the 5.2-litre V10 producing 570 PS, making it more powerful than the contemporary R8 V10 Plus and the earlier R8 GT. Distinguished by its fixed carbon-fibre rear wing and exclusive Ara Blue crystal effect paint, the LMX was limited to just 99 units worldwide. It remains a highly sought-after collector's item for its rarity and its role as a technological pioneer for Audi's lighting systems.
