About the Lada Kalina
The second-generation Lada Kalina, launched in 2013, represented a significant modernisation of AvtoVAZ's core supermini. While it retained the basic platform of its predecessor, it featured updated styling, a revised interior, and improved safety features to better compete with budget rivals. The 1.6-litre 8-valve engine is known for its simplicity and durability, designed to handle poor fuel quality and harsh climates. Though never officially sold in the UK, it remains a ubiquitous sight in Eastern Europe, valued for its low running costs and ease of repair.
