About the Toyota Ist XP60
The Toyota Ist (XP60) was launched in 2002 as a premium alternative to the Vitz, featuring a crossover-inspired aesthetic with flared wheel arches and a higher seating position. Built on the NBC platform, it was aimed at younger buyers who wanted the utility of a wagon with the compact footprint of a city car. The 1.3-litre variant uses the reliable 2NZ-FE engine, prioritising fuel efficiency and ease of maintenance over outright performance. While primarily a Japanese domestic market model, it gained international recognition when rebranded as the Scion xA for North America.
