About the Lada Granta

Launched in late 2011, the Lada Granta was developed by AvtoVAZ in collaboration with Renault to replace the ageing 'Classic' (2107) and Samara models. Built on the Lada Kalina platform, it was designed as a no-frills, affordable subcompact for the Russian market and developing nations. The 1.6-litre 8-valve engine is known for its simplicity and ease of maintenance in harsh climates. While basic in its appointments, the Granta became a massive commercial success, frequently topping the Russian sales charts for over a decade.
