About the Dacia Logan Mk1
Launched in 2004, the Dacia Logan was the cornerstone of Renault's 'X90' project to create a modern, reliable, and affordable car for emerging markets. It utilised the proven B0 platform and simplified components from the Renault-Nissan parts bin to achieve a remarkably low entry price. The 1.4-litre 8-valve engine is a robust, low-maintenance unit designed for longevity rather than performance. While basic in its appointments, the Logan's massive 510-litre boot and spacious cabin made it an instant success, eventually finding a cult following in Western Europe as a refreshingly honest alternative to complex modern cars.
