About the Honda Logo

The Honda Logo was introduced in 1996 as a successor to the second-generation City, designed with a focus on urban practicality and fuel economy. Its conservative styling and modest performance meant it struggled to compete with more expressive rivals, leading to its replacement by the highly successful Jazz/Fit in 2001. In the UK, it served as a brief stop-gap model between 1999 and 2001, offered with a simple 8-valve D-series engine. While not a driver's car, it is noted for its excellent visibility, light controls, and typical Honda mechanical reliability.

  • Despite its short production run, the Logo sold over 200,000 units in the Japanese domestic market before being superseded by the Fit.
  • The UK only received the 65hp 8-valve engine, whereas Japan had access to a 16-valve 'Sportic' version and even a four-wheel-drive variant.
