About the Honda Accord
The third-generation Honda Accord, produced between 1985 and 1989, is widely regarded as the model that cemented Honda's reputation for engineering excellence. It was the first front-wheel-drive production car to feature double-wishbone suspension at both the front and rear, a layout typically reserved for sports cars, providing class-leading handling and ride quality. The 2.0i trim utilised Honda's PGM-FI fuel injection system, offering a significant performance boost over the carburetted base models. Its low-slung, wedge-shaped profile and signature retractable headlights made it a design icon of the late 1980s.
