About the Volvo 360

The Volvo 360 GLT was the performance flagship of the 300-series, a range originally designed by DAF before Volvo's acquisition. Unlike the smaller 340, the 360 used Volvo's own 2.0-litre 'redblock' engine paired with a rear-mounted transaxle for near-perfect 50:50 weight distribution. This layout, combined with a De Dion rear axle, made it a surprisingly capable handler and a cult favourite in the drifting and club racing scenes. While often overlooked in its era as a sensible family car, the GLT's mechanical robustness and unique drivetrain configuration have earned it a dedicated following among modern enthusiasts.
