About the Ginetta G40

The Ginetta G40R is the road-going sibling of the successful G40 race car, designed to be driven to the track, raced, and driven home. It features a TIG-welded FIA-approved integral roll cage and a lightweight glass-fibre body, resulting in a kerb weight of just 795kg. Power comes from a 2.0-litre Mazda MZR engine paired with a snickety six-speed manual gearbox, both sourced from the MX-5 but tuned for greater urgency. The driving experience is raw and analogue, lacking power steering or ABS, making it a focused alternative to the Lotus Elise for purists.
