About the Ginetta G4
The Ginetta G4, introduced in 1961, was the car that established Ginetta as a serious manufacturer of dual-purpose road and race cars. Built around a spaceframe chassis with a lightweight fibreglass body, it utilised Ford running gear, most notably the 1.3-litre 'pre-Crossflow' Kent engine in this specification. Its exceptionally low weight and balanced handling allowed it to compete successfully against much more powerful machinery on track. Today, it is highly prized by historic racers and collectors for its purity and giant-killing reputation.

Ginetta G4 fun facts
- The G4 was so successful in club racing that it often beat contemporary Jaguars and Astons despite having a fraction of the displacement.
- Early G4s used a live rear axle from the Ford 105E Anglia, though later Series 2 models introduced independent rear suspension.
- The car's design was so enduring that Ginetta launched a 'Series 4' continuation model in the 1980s to satisfy ongoing demand.
