About the Ford Mondeo ST24 Mk2
Launched in 1997 as a performance flagship for the facelifted Mk2 Mondeo, the ST24 was the first model to establish Ford's 'Sports Technologies' sub-brand. It featured a 2.5-litre Duratec V6 engine and a distinctive Rally Sport Appearance Pack body kit inspired by the Mondeo's success in the British Touring Car Championship. While not as hardcore as the later ST200, it offered a refined balance of handling and V6 character that helped shed the 'Mundano' image. Today, it is a rare modern classic, with survival rates in the UK having plummeted due to rust and high-mileage scrappage.
