About the Ginetta G33
Launched in 1990 to celebrate Ginetta's 30th anniversary, the G33 was a departure from the company's kit-car roots, sold primarily as a fully built factory car. It features a galvanised steel chassis and a lightweight glass-fibre body with distinctive pop-up headlights and wide wheel arches. Power comes from the ubiquitous Rover V8, which provides a power-to-weight ratio exceeding 230 bhp per tonne. The driving experience is visceral and demanding, lacking electronic aids and offering a raw connection to the road.

Ginetta G33 fun facts
- The G33's styling was heavily influenced by the G27, but it was widened and refined to accommodate the larger V8 engine and improved suspension.
- Despite its performance, production was cut short when Ginetta entered receivership in 1992, though a few more were completed under new ownership.
- The car uses a Sierra-derived five-speed gearbox and a bespoke independent rear suspension setup to handle the V8's torque.
