About the Ford Ranger Mk2

The Mk2 Ford Ranger (PJ/PK) was a significant evolution for the international model, developed in partnership with Mazda and built in Thailand. Unlike the North American Ranger of the same era, this version featured a modern common-rail Duratorq diesel engine and was designed to appeal to both commercial users and the growing 'lifestyle' 4x4 market. It is highly regarded for its 3,000kg towing capacity and robust mechanicals, though it retains a traditional leaf-sprung rear end that prioritises payload over unladen ride comfort. By 2009, the PK facelift introduced a bolder three-bar grille and improved interior refinement before the platform was replaced by the larger T6.
