About the Ford Mondeo Mk4
The Mk4 Ford Mondeo represented a significant step up for the nameplate, moving away from its 'Mondeo Man' fleet image toward a more premium, sophisticated offering. Built on the EUCD platform shared with Volvo, it offered a vast interior and a level of chassis composure that often embarrassed more expensive German rivals. The 2.0 TDCi in Titanium trim was the sweet spot of the range, providing a balance of punchy diesel torque and high equipment levels including the 'Convers+' digital instrument cluster. While its physical footprint grew considerably over the Mk3, its sharp steering and well-damped ride ensured it remained the driver's choice in the D-segment.
