About the Ford Mondeo Mk2

The Mk2 Mondeo was a comprehensive facelift of the original 1993 'world car', introducing the distinctive 'New Edge' styling cues that would later define the Focus. The Ghia trim sat near the top of the range, offering a plush interior with wood-effect trim and high equipment levels that challenged premium rivals. It was famously used by Tony Blair to define the 'Mondeo Man' voter, symbolising the aspirational middle class of 1990s Britain. Dynamically, it remained the class leader for handling and ride quality, thanks to its sophisticated multi-link rear suspension.
