About the Kia Carens UN
The second-generation Kia Carens, known as the UN series, represented a significant step forward for the brand in the European compact MPV segment. Launched in 2006, it was built on a modified Magentis platform and offered a choice of five or seven seats, competing directly with the Vauxhall Zafira and Renault Scénic. The 2.0-litre CRDi diesel engine was the pick of the range, providing a substantial 305 Nm of torque that made it a capable family hauler. While its styling was conservative and the driving dynamics were uninspiring, it gained a reputation for being a robust, honest, and exceptionally affordable used buy.
