About the Ford Escort Mk6
The Mk6 Ford Escort was a significant facelift of the Mk5, introduced in 1995 to modernise the aging platform with smoother styling and a vastly improved interior. The Ghia trim sat near the top of the range, featuring wood-effect trim, plush upholstery, and often the innovative 'Quickclear' heated windscreen. Powered by the 1.6-litre Zetec engine, it offered a balance of reliability and adequate performance for the era. While once ubiquitous on British roads, survivors in good condition are now becoming increasingly rare and sought after by enthusiasts of the 'Blue Oval'.
