About the Dodge Charger Daytona
Developed as a 'homologation special' to dominate NASCAR's superspeedways, the Charger Daytona is one of the most radical muscle cars ever produced. Its distinctive 23-inch tall rear wing and 18-inch steel nose cone were engineered by Chrysler's aerospace division to solve the standard Charger's aerodynamic lift issues. While the 426 Hemi is the rarest option, the 440 Magnum was the standard powerplant, offering more accessible low-end torque for street use. Only 503 units were built to meet the NASCAR minimum, making it a cornerstone of any serious Mopar collection.

Dodge Charger Daytona fun facts
- The Daytona was the first car in NASCAR history to officially break the 200 mph (322 km/h) mark, achieved by Buddy Baker at Talladega in 1970.
- The rear wing was so tall not just for aerodynamics, but to allow the boot lid to open fully without hitting the spoiler.
- Because the nose cone was made of sheet metal and added nearly 20 inches to the car's length, it was notoriously difficult to park in standard garages.
