About the Dodge Avenger JS
The JS-generation Dodge Avenger was introduced to the European market in 2007 as a bold, American-styled alternative to established D-segment saloons like the Ford Mondeo. While North American models typically featured larger 2.4-litre or V6 engines, the UK and European SXT trim was often paired with a 2.0-litre 'World Engine' developed through the Global Engine Manufacturing Alliance. Its exterior design, penned by Ryan Nagode, intentionally mimicked the larger Dodge Charger, featuring a distinctive kick-up in the rear door line and a crosshair grille. Despite its aggressive looks, the Avenger was often criticised for its plasticky interior and unrefined driving dynamics compared to its European rivals.
