About the Chrysler Aspen
Introduced for the 2007 model year, the Chrysler Aspen was the brand's first body-on-frame SUV, essentially a more luxurious sibling to the Dodge Durango. It featured distinctive styling cues borrowed from the Chrysler 300, including the signature 'egg-crate' grille and straked hood. While marketed as a premium alternative to the Cadillac Escalade and Lincoln Navigator, it struggled to escape its Durango roots and suffered from poor timing, launching just as fuel prices spiked and the SUV market cooled. The 4.7-litre V8 was the entry-level engine, offering E85 flex-fuel capability but lacking the prestige and performance of the optional 5.7-litre Hemi.
