About the Subaru Tribeca
Launched as Subaru's first foray into the mid-size seven-seat SUV market, the B9 Tribeca is best remembered for its controversial 'aircraft-inspired' front grille designed by Andreas Zapatinas. Built on a modified Legacy platform, it offered car-like handling and a high-quality, wrap-around interior that felt more premium than contemporary rivals. The 3.0-litre EZ30 boxer engine provided smooth power, though it struggled with the vehicle's significant weight, leading to poor fuel economy. Despite its unique character and top-tier safety ratings, slow sales led to a rapid facelift in 2008 that removed the distinctive B9 styling.
