About the Ford Edge Mk2
The second-generation Ford Edge marked the model's official entry into the European market, positioned as a premium alternative to the Kuga. Built on the CD4 platform shared with the Mondeo, it prioritised refinement and interior space over off-road capability, featuring active noise cancellation and acoustic glass. The 2.0-litre TDCi Bi-Turbo engine was the range-topping diesel choice for the UK, paired exclusively with the PowerShift dual-clutch transmission and all-wheel drive. While it offered a comfortable ride and generous equipment, its significant kerb weight limited its agility compared to premium German rivals.
