About the Chevrolet Camaro Z28
The 1970 Z28 marked the debut of the second-generation Camaro, featuring a clean-sheet design heavily influenced by European GT styling. It replaced the high-strung 302 cubic-inch engine of the first generation with the Corvette-derived 350 cubic-inch LT-1 V8, offering a broader torque curve and improved drivability. This model year is widely considered the peak of the Z28's performance before emissions regulations began to stifle output in 1971. Collectors prize the 1970 model for its unique combination of solid-lifter mechanical character and the 'split-bumper' Rally Sport front-end option.
