About the Chevrolet Camaro Z28
The fifth-generation Camaro Z/28 was a radical departure from the typical muscle car formula, focusing on track performance through extreme weight reduction and high-end chassis components. It features the legendary 7.0-litre LS7 V8 from the Corvette Z06, paired exclusively with a manual gearbox. To save weight, Chevrolet removed sound deadening, used thinner rear glass, and even made air conditioning an optional extra. The car is distinguished by its Multimatic DSSV spool-valve dampers—a first for a volume production car—and massive Brembo carbon-ceramic brakes, allowing it to lap the Nürburgring in 7:37.47.
