About the Chevrolet Camaro Z28
The 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 was the final and most refined iteration of the first-generation SCCA Trans-Am homologation special. It featured the high-revving 302 cubic-inch V8, which combined a 327 block with a 283 crankshaft to stay under the 5.0-litre racing limit. While officially rated at 290 hp for insurance purposes, actual output was closer to 350 hp, delivering a peaky power band suited for road courses rather than drag strips. The 1969 model is distinguished by its sharper 'hugger' styling, optional cowl-induction hood, and iconic dual racing stripes.
