About the Buick Roadmaster
The eighth-generation Buick Roadmaster marked the return of a legendary nameplate, serving as the brand's final full-size, rear-wheel-drive body-on-frame sedan. For 1994, it received the 5.7-litre LT1 V8 engine shared with the C4 Corvette, though detuned with iron heads for better durability and low-end torque. Despite its conservative 'grandfather car' styling and plush Dynaride suspension, the LT1 transformed the Roadmaster into a formidable sleeper capable of surprising contemporary sports cars. It remains a cult favourite for its immense interior space, effortless towing capacity, and the novelty of having a Corvette heart in a velvet-lined lounge.
