About the BMW X5 E70

The 2010 'Life Cycle Impulse' (LCI) update significantly enhanced the E70 X5, replacing the older M57 diesel with the more efficient N57 engine and introducing a smooth ZF 8-speed automatic transmission. As the SE trim, it focused on a balance of luxury and road-biased dynamics, maintaining BMW's reputation for building the best-handling SUV in its class. The E70 was the first X5 to offer a third-row seating option and the iDrive system, making it a highly practical family hauler. While it lacks the off-road prowess of a Range Rover, its car-like unibody construction and double-wishbone front suspension provide superior composure on tarmac.
