About the Austin-Healey 100 S
The Austin-Healey 100 S was a purpose-built racing variant developed to celebrate the marque's success at the 12 Hours of Sebring. Hand-built at the Donald Healey Motor Company in Warwick, it featured a lightweight all-aluminium body, a smaller grille, and no exterior door handles or bumpers. It was the first production car to feature Dunlop disc brakes on all four wheels. Under the bonnet, the 2.7-litre engine was heavily modified with a Weslake eight-port aluminium cylinder head and twin SU H6 carburettors, providing a significant power boost over the standard 100/4. Today, it is considered the 'Holy Grail' for Austin-Healey collectors due to its rarity and competition pedigree.
