About the Vauxhall Firenza
The Firenza HP, famously known as the 'Droopsnoot' due to its aerodynamic glass-fibre nose designed by Wayne Cherry, was created to homologate Vauxhall's challenger for Group 4 racing. It featured a high-performance 'slant-four' engine equipped with twin Stromberg carburettors and a dog-leg ZF five-speed gearbox. Despite its striking looks and genuine performance, production was cut short by the 1973 oil crisis, making it one of the rarest and most desirable British Fords of its era. It remains a cult icon for its distinctive styling and successful racing pedigree in the hands of drivers like Gerry Marshall.

Vauxhall Firenza rarity in CarSpot
The Vauxhall Firenza is a Unicorn card in CarSpot, with a rarity score of 100 out of 100. The rarest tier: hypercars, one-offs and cars built in tiny numbers, typically fewer than about 500. A Unicorn card is worth 320 XP.
Each model's tier starts from a 0–100 score based on its value plus its power or production numbers. Once enough players have spotted a model, how often it is spotted can move it up or down one tier. How CarSpot rarity works
Rarity is a collectible game mechanic, not an assessment of real-world scarcity or value.
Vauxhall Firenza fun facts
- The aerodynamic nose was so effective it reduced the car's drag coefficient and allowed a top speed of 120 mph, significant for a 2.3-litre car in 1974.
- All 204 production units were finished in the same Silver Starfire paint with a distinctive Silver/Black interior.
- The 'Droopsnoot' nose design was later adapted for the Vauxhall Chevette HS and the Cavalier Sportshatch.
