About the Austin-Healey 100 BN1
The Austin-Healey 100 BN1 was the result of a partnership between Donald Healey and Austin, designed to fill the gap between the MG TD and the Jaguar XK120. It features a distinctive fold-down windscreen and a torquey 2,660cc engine derived from the Austin A90 Atlantic. The BN1 is characterised by its three-speed gearbox with overdrive on the top two ratios, effectively providing five forward gears. Its low-slung profile and balanced handling made it an immediate success in the American market and a capable competitor in period sports car racing.
