About the Daimler One-O-Four
The Daimler One-O-Four (DF310) was a high-performance evolution of the Regency Mark II, designed to shed the brand's staid image. Its name was derived from the prototype's ability to reach 104 mph, a significant feat for a two-tonne luxury saloon in the mid-1950s. It featured a revised 3.5-litre straight-six with an aluminium cylinder head and twin SU carburettors, paired with Daimler's signature fluid flywheel and Wilson pre-selector gearbox. While it retained the traditional fluted grille and walnut-heavy interior, it offered significantly improved braking and handling over its predecessors. It remains a rare and dignified alternative to the contemporary Jaguar Mark VII.
