About the Wolseley 15/50
The Wolseley 15/50 was introduced in 1956 as a mechanical update to the 4/44, replacing the aging Morris XPA engine with the more robust 1.5-litre BMC B-Series unit. While it shared its basic monocoque structure with the MG Magnette ZA/ZB, the Wolseley was tuned for luxury rather than sportiness, featuring a single SU carburettor and a more comfortable ride. The interior is a hallmark of the marque, boasting a polished walnut dashboard, leather upholstery, and a floor-mounted gear lever which replaced the previous column shift. It remains a charming entry-level classic, valued for its reliability and the distinctive illuminated 'Wolseley' badge on the grille.

Wolseley 15/50 fun facts
- The 15/50 was available with a rare 'Manumatic' transmission, a two-pedal system that used a centrifugal clutch and vacuum servos to automate gear changes.
- Despite sharing a body shell with the MG Magnette, the Wolseley 15/50 used different rear wings and boot panels, making many body parts non-interchangeable.
- The illuminated radiator badge was a signature Wolseley feature, designed to make the cars easily identifiable to other owners at night.
