About the Volkswagen Corrado
The Corrado VR6 is widely regarded as one of the finest-handling front-wheel-drive cars ever produced, featuring a chassis that offered poise and feedback comparable to contemporary Porsches. Its defining feature is the narrow-angle 15-degree VR6 engine, which allowed a six-cylinder powerplant to fit into a space designed for a four-cylinder. The 2.9-litre European version provided a significant performance boost over the earlier G60 model, delivering smooth, linear power and a distinctive exhaust note. Built by Karmann, the Corrado combined Volkswagen reliability with bespoke coupe styling and advanced aerodynamics.
