About the Toyota Sequoia XK30
Introduced for the 2001 model year, the first-generation Sequoia (XK30) was Toyota's direct challenge to the Chevrolet Tahoe and Ford Expedition. Sharing its body-on-frame architecture and 2UZ-FE V8 engine with the Tundra pickup, it offered a more sophisticated multi-link rear suspension for improved ride quality. It quickly gained a reputation for bulletproof reliability, with many examples surpassing 300,000 miles. While it lacked the luxury of the Land Cruiser, its massive interior and eight-passenger capacity made it a staple of the North American suburban landscape.
