About the Skoda Favorit

The Favorit represented a technological revolution for Skoda, moving from a rear-engine, rear-wheel-drive layout to a modern front-engine, front-wheel-drive configuration. Designed by the Italian studio Bertone, it was one of the most advanced cars in the Eastern Bloc at its launch and proved surprisingly competitive in Western markets. Its robust mechanicals and decent handling earned it a reputation for reliability, eventually catching the attention of the Volkswagen Group. Today, it is increasingly sought after as a nostalgic modern classic, particularly in its home country and the UK.
