About the Singer Gazelle New Gazelle

Introduced in 1967, the 'New Gazelle' (Series VII) was part of the Rootes Group's 'Arrow' range, sharing its platform with the Hillman Hunter but featuring a more upscale interior with a wooden dashboard. While the 1725cc engine was standard with automatic transmission, the 1.5-litre variant served as the entry-level manual model, providing reliable if unhurried transport. It represents the final iteration of the Gazelle nameplate before the Singer brand was retired by Chrysler in 1970. Collectors value it for its mechanical simplicity and its status as the swan song of one of Britain's oldest motoring marques.
